Birds Never Carry Birds by the neck If possible retrive Birds to be mounted Yourself Do not use a dog Lay in a cool Shaded spot to cool body Temp. down beore placing in a plastic bag always freeze birds whole The best way to freeze is to place bird in the legging of pantyhose in order to hold Feathers down and not ruffled And then place in a plastic Bag Use cardboard taped to the tail to protect long tail feathers from getting damaged if neccesary Small Mammels Always Freeze Whole Do not Gut the animal Lay animal in a cool shady spot to cool down body temp. before freezing Place animal in a plastic bag and squeeze out air Place in freezer Deer Leave entire cape intact if possible to avoid cutting to short Cut neck off leaving the neck meat attached so the taxidermist is able to get Measurments of the neck area After allowing deer to cool down wrap in plastic bag and freeze Placing Animals in Plastic bags without cooling down first will take longer to freeze Once Wrapped Due to holding in heat and possibly cause hair slippage to the animals
